Ran across this website today. Dude, must have way too much time on his hands, to think this much about ‘Emo’. The sections on the different styles within the genre, and his favorite albums is sorta interesting, though. And on a side note, it appears the dude lives in Ken’s previous neck of the woods, down in Half-Moon Bay.

He’s a little bit toooo much into the emo-core / DC scene for my tastes — completely missing anything that appeared / mutated after about 1996. While I certainly think a lot of his list has merit, there are some quite notable exceptions on the punk-pop side . . .

Yeah, that’s Fred singing, probably around ‘93 or ‘94. I think he grabbed that image from Dischords site.

Yeah, he pretty much only acknowledges Jimmy Eats World out of the current crop of punk-pop bands (Hey Mercedes, Alkaline Trio, etc). It sounds like he really doesn’t care for any of the bands that came around after 1998 or so.
