Polar Pacer

Polar Pacer 01

After talking to Ken today, I figured I would get off my ass, and finally get around to replacing the battery for my heart rate monitor. For some reason, I thought it used a different connector for the battery, and this was the main reason I had procrastinated replacing the battery for so long. Obviously, I must have had my head up my ass, though. It ended up taking all of 5 minutes to take apart, and after a quick trip to Target and $4.00 later, I had my replacement battery. Here’s a photo of it running now.

I still gotta admire the laziness. Just the thought of a little extra effort on a mundane task kept you from doing it. I am truly envious and in awe of your powers of sloth.

  2. Even more impressive is how long I procrastinated, must have been for 6 months or so.

I need to change my battery in my Polar Pacer, and could use some advice. Once I get the cover off, there is a gold cover, how do I take it off without damaging the unit?

  5. If I remember correctly, there’s some small clips holding it in place, though my memory could be fuzzy since it was a few years back when I did this.

I’m wondering how to change my battery in my Polar Pacer, I have the cover off, I don’t want to damage it. How do you get the gold cover off to get to the actual battery?

Does anyone know the kind of battery used in the Polar Pacer heart rate monitor? Also the battery in the transmitter?

    Thanks

The battery type is a CR2025. having said that – I need to replace the battery and wonder how to go about it ?? Any answers out there ?

  11. I just made a replacement chest strap for my Pacer, then discovered the battery was also dead. Pics were a great help. I’m off to get the battery next. Speaking of sloth, I’m leaving the open parts on my desk so I don’t get distracted before it’s complete. Thanks! -jh

I am happy I found your website on orkut. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my husband were just preparing to do some research about this. I am very happy to see such good info being shared freely out there.

To remove the gold plate after the back is removed requires only a slight clockwise twist. Don’t try to pry it off lest you break the contacts.
